Founders Day Celebrated

On Thursday, November 10, 2022, we had the pleasure of gathering in-person to celebrate Founders Day. In true IHM fashion, we gathered from near and far welcoming our sisters, associates and the leadership teams of our Sisters of St. Casimir and the Sisters of Saints Cyril and Methodius. Our evening began with prayer and the re-commitment of our IHM Associates. We were truly blessed that many of our associates living locally were able to participate in this renewal of their covenant with us. We were thrilled to pray with our sisters and associates from many other places as well. After prayer, approximately 130 of us made our way to the Theresa Maxis Conference Center for a delicious Thanksgiving dinner. Sister Elizabeth DeMerchant created a LEGO log cabin, the first sisters who lived there, and the chapel where they were commissioned for their new mission as Sisters of IHM. The joyful spirit, rich conversations and laughter permeated our whole gathering; celebrating together reminded us how blessed we truly are. We know that Theresa, Mother Maria, Mother Cyril and all those who have shared our IHM journey were smiling and reminding us that “nothing is by coincidence” as we continue to journey in our shared life together.
