Become a Member of the Sacred Heart Guild

Sisters and Associates are invited to come and join the members of the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This is the way to have a greater love for Jesus and Mary and to grow deeper in our faith.

In existence in the Scranton Diocese for more than 75 years, the Guild was established at Marywood College in 1945 with Sister Ethelbert Gilroy, IHM as the first moderator. Throughout the history of the Guild, Sisters in the IHM Congregation have been the backbone of the organization. In recent years, Sisters Romaine Krug, Celesta Sinisi and Patricia Hauser have held leadership roles on the board and many other sisters have been members.

The promise of our Lord is, “I will bless every place where the image of my heart shall be exposed and honored.” Many families have been brought together in honor of the Sacred Heart by having their homes consecrated to the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. Members can also participate in these prayerful events.

Why are we seeking new members? As shown in the previous history there is a strong connection between the IHM Congregation and the Guild.

If you are able to participate in any of the Guild's activities, which are all in the Scranton-Pittston areas, we are happy to have you and any input you may have. At the end of November, the Sacred Heart Guild celebrates Christ the King with liturgy, enthronements and a social with refreshments. In June, we celebrate the feasts of the Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart with a special liturgy and festive dinner.

If you are interested in becoming a member or have any questions, please contact Sister Pat Hauser at 570-342-6850 or Sister Celesta Sinisi at 570-346-5423.

Thank you. We hope you'll consider this special invitation.
