Sicuani
The Sisters of IHM were called by a powerful plea from Pope John XXIII in 1961 who asked religious congregations of women to consider sending sisters to serve in Peru. Our IHM congregation responded in 1965 when four IHM Sisters were missioned to Lima to administer and teach in a parish school and to help in parish ministry. In 1975 two sisters felt the need to work directly with the poor, especially the descendents of the Incas in the Sierra. Today our Sisters of IHM serve in the Andes Mountains of Peru in Sicuani and also in Lima.
