Lisa Moran: Why I Give: A Donor’s Story

Lisa Moran, IHM Donor

I strive to teach my children the importance of a strong commitment to faith and to helping others. It is something I learned from my mother and my aunt, and it is something I see in the IHM Sisters. They are such wonderful examples – tirelessly serving our community and all of God’s people.

The Bible teaches us to:

  • “love one another” John 15:12
  • “Serve one another” Galatians 5: 13
  • “Be kind and compassionate to one another” Ephesians 4: 12

Working to help support the needs of the retired Sisters really means a lot to me. I want to lead by example, and that is exactly what the IHM Sisters do. As an active member of Saint Paul’s Parish, I strive to exemplify the word of God in every aspect of my life – family, faith, and service. As a mother of nine children, our strong family values are built on our faith in God. It is my belief that being rooted in faith equips and empowers each of us. We do not walk alone.

I consider my ability to help the Sisters a privilege. Recently they asked me to serve on the IHM Foundation Board. I consider it an honor to play a larger role in striving to better the lives of Sisters who have given so much to so very many. As this year’s IHM
Sisters Celebration draws near, I encourage all of you to do the same.
